We aspire to enhance the lives of children in our communities, empowering them to learn and thrive, through play. Our LEGO® bricks are made to be played with again and again and can be handed down through generations. Our LEGO System in Play means that a LEGO brick made today fits one made 60 years ago. They are made for children. Given this, all bricks must meet our extremely rigorous safety, quality and durability standards, which means using very high-quality raw materials. Despite this, we have committed to making LEGO bricks from more sustainable materials by 2032.
We are also working to reduce the environmental impact of all our operations as part of our target to reduce our absolute GHG emissions by 37% by 2032, compared to 2019, and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, as well as reducing our waste and water usage. We are also working to make sure that all our packaging is more sustainable and to eliminate single-use plastic from all our products. And finally, we’re constantly looking for new ways to reuse and recycle LEGO bricks. We want to create new ways to keep them in play.
