At the LEGO Group, everything we do is guided by our vision to become a global force for Learning Through Play, our fundamental belief in children’s right to play and our mission to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow. When children play, they build essential life skills, learn to solve problems and boost confidence, creativity and resilience whilst having fun.
We want children to inherit a healthy planet. We’re determined to play our part in making that happen and there’s no time to waste. Climate change is affecting life on Earth for plants, animals and people. Each year, we receive hundreds of letters from children with great ideas about how we can make a difference in the world and help care for the environment. We want them to know that we are listening, and that we are working hard to play our part in building a sustainable future and a more inclusive world.
LEGO® products
We will make our products from more sustainable materials by 2032.
Packaging
We will switch to recyclable packaging across all areas of our business.
Climate action
We’ve set a target to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to net zero by 2050.
Keeping bricks in play
LEGO® play is made to last. That’s why LEGO bricks can be built and rebuilt into an infinite number of different things!
To reduce the environmental impact of all parts of our business, we are currently working on a broad range of initiatives, which include transitioning to more sustainable raw materials, using more sustainable packaging and making our business more circular. By 2025, we will have doubled our spending on sustainable initiatives compared to 2023.
The LEGO Group encourages fans to keep passing on their bricks
The LEGO Group has launched a campaign today, inspiring fans and families alike to pass on their bricks so the play never stops.
The LEGO Group calls on suppliers to move towards net-zero targets
With 99% of carbon emissions coming from outside the company’s operations, the LEGO Group’s suppliers play a key role in achieving sustainability targets. The new Supplier Sustainability Program outlines near-term targets suppliers need to meet by 2026.
2 million children tackle global challenges with the LEGO Group’s free Build the Change program
The number of children learning about sustainability through the LEGO Group’s free Build the Change social impact program has more than doubled since 2022, according to recent figures*. The program, which is supported by the LEGO Foundation and empowers children to build a more sustainable future through play, impacted over 2 million children last year – up from 900,000 in 2022 – and is on track to reach even more kids in 2024.
We’re joining forces with children and parents, our employees, partners, experts and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to make a lasting impact and inspire the children of today to become the builders of tomorrow.
