How to get Plastoid in LEGO® Fortnite®

LEGO Fortnite’s 29.40 update brought tons of Star Wars™ content from a galaxy far, far away to your very own islands.

A lot of that content is built with Plastoid, a new raw material that you can use to create everything from weapons to decorations and buildings. To create with it, you must find it first, and it’s not as easy to locate as materials like Wood and Granite. But don’t worry. We’re here to help!

In this LEGO Fortnite article, we’ll show you the best ways to find Plastoid and offer you some tips to make collecting it easier.

Find Stormtroopers

Sometimes, it feels like there are a lot of Stormtroopers on your Star Wars-themed island. Other times, they’re difficult to find.

When you do find and defeat them, they playfully pop out of your game and leave Plastoid behind. And that makes a lot of sense because Plastoid is the material that makes up the iconic white parts of Stormtrooper armor!

The most reliable way to find Stormtroopers is to pull out your Macrobinoculars, which every player gets as a gift from Captain Bravara. If you don’t have them, you can always craft another pair at your Rebel Workbench, your Star Wars island’s version of your trusty Crafting Bench.

If you’re on your original LEGO Fortnite world island, your Macrobinoculars will show you the cave that leads to your Star Wars island.

If you’re on your Star Wars island, your Macrobinoculars will show you the location of Imperial Bunkers. They’re a lot like LEGO Fortnite caves, except that they’re teeming with the forces of evil from the Star Wars universe – including Stormtroopers.

That should be your destination, and defeating those bucketheads should be your goal.

And while you’re on your way to the Imperial Bunker, you may discover opportunities to collect some Plastoid, too.

Plastoid Structures

Plastoid is good for more than just slightly protecting Stormtroopers. It’s also a building block for materials in the wider Star Wars universe. So, if you see a dilapidated building as you’re headed to the Imperial Bunker, stop by and do some destruction.

Make sure you have the highest-quality Pickaxe you can build. That’s the best and most efficient way to destroy what you’ll be encountering. If you don’t have one, just make one at a Crafting Bench.

Now look for anything that looks like it might be made of Plastoid. You can safely ignore things that are made of Wood, for example, because they’re just going to give you Wood. Swing away at boxes and crates and pocket the Plastoid that comes out.

One of the most reliable ways to find something made of Plastoid is to look for the telltale Imperial logo on it.

Imperial Bunkers

When you make it inside the Imperial Bunker, you’ll find oodles of Plastoid in the form of Stormtroopers to defeat and structures to destroy.

If you can’t get inside the Imperial Bunker because you need a Clearance Code, then just head back to your Rebel Outpost (the equivalent of your village on your Star Wars island) and follow the paths to upgrade your village.

Getting the Clearance Code that you need to access Imperial Bunkers is a natural part of your Rebel Outpost’s progression.

Plastoid Builds

Plastoid is a huge part of LEGO Fortnite’s Star Wars content because it’s a common material required to build the special items in the game.

It’s a required ingredient in weapons and other useful items.

It’s also a required material for building structures both in the Imperial Survival and Rebel Survival sections of your Builds > Architectures menu.

Now that you know how to find Plastoid, it’s time to start harvesting and building. Good luck, and may the Force be with you.
