Age 2+
Ah – you’ve made it to the so-called ‘Terrible Twos’! You may have a few more greys, your daily step count may have quadrupled, but you made it – and you wouldn’t have it any other way, right?!
At two years old, things are about to get seriously fun! The toddler in your life likely has boundless energy, enthusiasm and dare we say, a fair dollop of stubbornness...! At two, little ones are likely to still need lots of your physical and emotional support, but they’ll also be starting to crave and exercise more independence – and can be persistent at it, too!
We’ve created this round-up of content for two-year-olds, to help you prepare for the development stages and milestones you might experience this year, the play styles best suited to this age and structured and unstructured activities to nurture their learning and love of play!
Play at this age dials up a notch. As children’s coordination, communication and comprehension develops, you can take their play experiences a little step further. Two-year-olds are likely to have been developing their fine and gross motor skills over the last year, as well as their ability to understand and follow directions and guidance from a grown-up, so activities such as painting, coloring, building – especially with LEGO® DUPLO® – and even some role-playing activities are great at this age!
Ready to go? Prepare for an energetic, crazy journey through toddler-land (don’t worry, we’ll be here to hold your hand).
