Han Solo from LEGO® Star Wars™ galaxy

Han Solo

Han Solo has been a key character in the Star Wars™ saga since the release of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, in 1977. Central to the storyline of the original trilogy, Han Solo went on to appear in both Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, in 1980 and Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, in 1983.

Han Solo, an epic journey from rogue smuggler to rebel hero

Han Solo is the star of many of the original trilogy’s most iconic scenes. Whether he’s piloting the Millennium Falcon, saving the lives of Jedis, or being frozen in carbonite, Han is always close to the action.

Such was the character’s popularity, Star Wars fans naturally wanted to know what happened to Han Solo next. And in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens (2015), the fans’ patience was rewarded. Set around 30 years after Return of The Jedi, Han reprises his role, alternating between lovable rogue and unlikely hero, always supported by his loyal co-pilot, the Wookie Chewbacca.
In 2018, Han Solo became the central character of his own movie – Solo: A Star Wars Story. Set before the events of the original trilogy, it tells the story of the young Han Solo. Here fans discover answers to many important questions, such as where he met Chewbacca and how he became pilot of the Millennium Falcon.

Following a tough childhood as an orphan in the ancient world of Corellia, Han Solo rose to become the unexpected hero of the Rebel Alliance.

As captain of the Millennium Falcon, Han is drawn into the war between the Rebel Alliance and the evil Galactic Empire. At first, Han’s pledge to help the Rebels is driven purely by money. But later, his allegiance to the Rebel cause and his affection for Princess Leia sees Han save the life of Leia’s brother Luke Skywalker in an epic battle.

After being awarded a medal of honor for his bravery, Han continues to serve with the Rebel Alliance, protecting his friends with the help of his faithful Wookie co-pilot Chewbacca.

Han and Princess Leia fall in love but shortly after, Han is captured by the Empire and is frozen in carbonite by evil Sith Lord Darth Vader and is handed over to the repulsive alien Jabba the Hutt. After escaping the clutches of Jabba, Han is made a general of the Rebel Alliance.

Han and Leia have a son – Ben Solo who, despite training as a Jedi, later turns to the dark side, becoming Kylo Ren. The pain of Ben’s betrayal leads Han and Leia to separate.

In an emotional exchange, Han pleads with Kylo Ren (Ben) to leave the dark side but instead Ren strikes, killing Han with his lightsaber.
