Anakin Skywalker is a key figure in the Star Wars™ saga. A fearless Jedi Knight of the Galactic Republic, he was heroic commander in the Clone Wars, before pledging himself to the dark side and being rechristened Darth Vader.Anakin Skywalker is a central character in the Star Wars prequel movie trilogy – Episodes I, II and III – the Clone Wars movies and TV series and appears in many LEGO® Star Wars playsets.
Anakin; the Jedi hero who turned to the dark side
Born to a slave mother, Skywalker had no father, and from an early age it was clear that he was attuned to the Force. He was duly trained as a member of the Jedi Order, first by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, and then Obi-Wan Kenobi, to develop these mysterious powers and he became one of the strongest Jedi ever.However, the unjust treatment of his apprentice Ahsoka Tano and his desire to save the life of his secret wife Padmé Amidala turned Skywalker against the Jedi High Council. Skywalker became evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. And after an epic Lightsaber duel with his former friend Obi-Wan left him horribly injured, he was rebuilt as a cyborg, unrecognizable in every way from his former caring self.
