Farm Friends Update in LEGO® Fortnite® - v29.,30

LEGO® Fortnite® Plows Ahead with Farm Friends Update

Lots of things are happening down on the LEGO® Fortnite® farm, thanks to a big update focused on farming and friends.

In this LEGO Fortnite story, we’ll take you on a tour through update version 29.30, from increases in the number of Villagers you can have to befriending animals — including a new one joining the game! — and a new recipe for training wild animals and a new, optional bundle of buildings available for purchase.

More Villagers and Animals

One big change in the Farm Friends update: You can now have 10 total recruits (minifigures and animals) in your village!

It works through a simple system of slots that you can see at the bottom of the Residents menu, which you access at your Village Hub.

  • 3 slots are always for villagers

  • 3 slots are always for animals

  • 4 slots can be used either for villagers or animals – it’s your choice!

You’ll also see new animal variants in LEGO Fortnite, like brown and tan chickens, yellow chickens and cows with new colors and patterns. Collect them all!

How to Add Animals

So now that we know that you can make animals part of your village, here’s how to do that.

First, you need to build a Barn, which is a new Station available in your Build > Stations menu. Think of it as a bed for an animal, which means you’ll need to build one Barn for each animal, just like you need to build one bed for each villager. If you’re starting a new game or village, you’ll need to reach village Level 2 before you unlock the Barn recipe.

You’ll need 10 Planks to create a Barn. That means you’ll need to take 10 Wood to a Lumber Mill, and turn those 10 Wood into 10 Planks.

Now you need to find an animal to befriend. That’s as easy as walking or flying around until you find a chicken, cow, sheep or pig, for example. Yes, you read that right: There are now pigs in LEGO Fortnite!

When you build your first Barn, you also unlock the recipe for an Animal Treat, which is the next step in domesticating your new pals. The Animal Treat recipe at Grill Station requires 5 Vines and 3 Corn

Now that you’re prepared, here’s what to do:

  1. Find an animal.
  2. Pet it, which will make the animal like you.
  3. Give it an Animal Treat, which will make the animal follow you. (You may need to feed it more than one Animal Treat.)
  4. Walk back to your Barn in your village
  5. Interact with the Barn, assign the animal to the Barn and give it a name

Now you have a new pet friend!

Keep in mind that your pet friends need to be fed. Talk to one of your villagers and ask them to “Take care of animals!” and they’ll become an Animal Caretaker.

Collecting Animal Resources

Every animal produces the Fertilizer resource (it’s really poop!), and every animal also produces a special resource.

  • Chickens make Feathers
  • Cows make Milk
  • Sheep make Wool

  • Pigs make Slurp Mushrooms

And you can use those resources directly or to create other items. For example, Feathers are an ingredient for making Arrows, and you can drink Milk to restore your health.

Five New Villagers

The update also adds five new villagers with fun interests and personalities, so keep an eye out for the following visitors:

  • Ash, who’s a plant fantastic
  • Brooks, who loves nature
  • Cadence, a woodworker

  • Lana Llane, who loves working in Villages

  • Guernsey, who’s making his way over from Fortnite and seems to like cows … a lot

One New Enemy

Look out! It’s a bear! If you see one, be quiet and sneaky because they’re not friendly!

Anarchy Acres LEGO Kit

Everything we’ve written about so far arrived for free in LEGO Fortnite with the update of 29.30. The Anarchy Acres Bundle is a package of two new LEGO Kits — Fully Furnished Farm and Farmer’s Favorites — available to purchase for 800 V-Bucks, Fortnite’s in-game currency. Players can also purchase the LEGO Kits individually, and we’ve noted their contents and prices below.

  • Fully Furnished Farm (600 V-Bucks) includes 3 Builds plus the Homestead Interiors Decor Bundle and the Rural Hospitality Decor Bundle

  • Farmer’s Favorites (400 V-Bucks) includes 9 Decor items

LEGO Kits are a new, optional, paid part of LEGO Fortnite. They offer beautiful items inspired both by Fortnite and LEGO Building Sets. LEGO Kits offer no gameplay advantages, and purchasers can share them in up to eight of their friends’ worlds per week.

Each LEGO Kit includes the following three types of items:

  • Builds, which are best thought of as buildings, like the barns in Fully Furnished Farm

  • Building Parts, which are items like walls, floors and windows that make up Builds

  • Decor items, which are thematically related decorative items like beach chairs and umbrellas available as part of the Beachside Boulevard Bundle

You can find LEGO Kits in LEGO Fortnite’s Item Shop menu, under the Build with LEGO® Kits submenu on the left side.
