How to get Code Clearance in LEGO® Fortnite® Odyssey

LEGO® Fortnite® Odyssey Star Wars™-themed update pits the forces of good from the Rebel Alliance against evil Imperial Stormtroopers and officers. You’ll find the bucketheads and their leaders roaming your island, but their real strongholds are Imperial Bunkers.

You’ll need to do some work before you can enter one, though. If you try too soon, you’ll be greeted by a message that says, “Requires Code Clearance.”  

In this LEGO Fortnite Odyssey article, we’ll show you how to get the Clearance Code and take you on a tour of what awaits you beyond the sliding doors of an Imperial Bunker.

Upgrade the Rebel Outpost

You can’t enter an Imperial Bunker until you have a Lightsaber or Code Clearance. And you can’t get a Lightsaber or Code Clearance until you upgrade your Rebel Outpost to Level 6.  

Keep in mind that you also have to upgrade the Village Comfort Level, which is a little less obvious than requirements like “Make a Crafting Bench.” Your job is to add buildings and decorations within your base.

Search your Build menu for Star Wars-themed items and place them around your Rebel Outpost. Each one you add will get you a little closer to your goal. You can check on your progress by interacting with your Village Hub in the middle of the Rebel Outpost.

Here are the requirements for upgrading your Rebel Outpost to each level.  

Rebel Outpost Level 2 Requirements 

• Clear the debris 

• Build the Rebel Farm 

• Build 3 beds

• Collect 5 pumpkins

Rebel Outpost Level 3 Requirements 

• Make a Crafting Bench 

• Craft 3 Shortswords  

Rebel Outpost Level 4 Requirements 

• Clear the debris  

• Build the Rebel Stables 

• Make a bed for Grrraaalf
• Build a barn

Rebel Outpost Level 5 Requirements

• Defeat 10 Stormtroopers 
• Collect 20 Plastoid  

Rebel Outpost Level 6 Requirements 

• Clear the debris
• Build the Rebel Workshop
• Make a bed for Myrna Rondo 
• Craft a Rebel Workbench

Inside Imperial Bunkers

Imperial Bunkers are a sci-fi twist on your original LEGO Fortnite Odyssey island’s Caves. You can find Imperial Bunkers with the Macrobinoculars that everyone gets as a gift from Captain Bravara. She hangs out at the Rebel Outpost, your Star Wars island’s Village equivalent.  

Inside, Imperial Bunkers offer materials like Brightcore, Marble, and Obsidian to mine, so be sure to bring the best Pickaxe that you can make to mine any resources that you’d like. You can also use a Pickaxe to destroy Imperial structures and collect useful new materials that arrived in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey with the Star Wars update, including Plastoid and Durasteel.

Imperial Bunkers are filled with tons of Stormtroopers and officers and even more deadly enemies. They’re also hiding tons of opportunities to stock up on loot and weapons. Every Stormtrooper is an opportunity to collect Plastoid, as are many of the crates stacked around the subterranean Imperial stronghold. Destroy them and see what pops out!  

Each Imperial Bunker is divided into sections – large, self-contained areas with hordes of enemies. To explore further inside the cave, you must first defeat all the enemies in the area.  

Defeat them, and that’ll disable a large, transparent red barrier that’s preventing access to the Imperial Bunker’s next area, where you’ll find more Imperials to defeat in the name of peace and justice in the galaxy.  

You’ll know that you’re dealing with the final enemies in an Imperial Bunker when you face what looks a lot like a Stormtrooper wearing all-black armor. That’s an Imperial Death Trooper, and it’s the toughest enemy in the bunker.

Defeat everyone, and you’ll gain access to a special, loot-filled room at the end of the Imperial Bunker. Inside are boxes to smash and loot, as well as a chest that contains a Lightsaber. Enjoy your reward! Captain Bravara will be so impressed!
