Introducing Battle Bus in LEGO® Fortnite® Odyssey

LEGO® Fortnite® Odyssey Battle Bus update brings fast travel, toys and customization

LEGO® Fortnite® Odyssey’s Battle Bus update brings new ways to travel through your massive island, new toys to play with, and many quality-of-life improvements to your map, inventory, and more.

In this story, we’ll introduce you to the Battle Bus and Bus Stations, show you how you can change your island’s settings, and let you know about some new toys to play with – all of which are available with update v30.40

Bus Stations

Travel has always been part of LEGO® Fortnite® Odyssey, from running on your minifigure feet to traveling with vehicles you drive or pilot. Now, you can hitch a ride on the iconic Battle Bus using Bus Stations.

LEGO® Fortnite® Odyssey Bus Stations are scattered throughout your world. You can hear their distinctive sounds as you approach and see their satellite dish’s pulsating halo from a distance.

In our experience, Bus Stations tend to appear in the general vicinity of villages.

You can also build your own Bus Station with Iron Bars, Malachite Slabs, Frostpine, and Rift Shards. And the easiest way to get those parts is by destroying a Bus Station! You’ll have everything you need and can build it where you want.

You’ll need an Epic Pickaxe to break the Bus Station down into its parts. And to craft that, you’ll need 8 Obsidian Slabs and 5 Frostpine Rods.

With the Lost Isles update, you can now also get Rift Shards by defeating Golems.

Change Your World

When you create a LEGO® Fortnite® Odyssey world , you customize it. For example, you can allow animals and decide whether or not your minifigure ever gets hungry. Originally, the only way to change those options was to create a new island. Thanks to the Battle Bus update, you can now change the settings whenever you like!

There are some rules, though. If you want to remove enemies from your island, you’ll have to remove the remaining enemies yourself. The same goes for friendly creatures and villagers. Also, some settings can’t be changed in Expert Mode. (That’s what makes them Expert Mode features!)

New Toys

The Battle Bus update brings a bunch of new toys to LEGO® Fortnite® Odyssey.

The Pressure Plate is a button. It operates like a thruster: Stand on it, and you can turn on channels. Step off of it, and the channels turn off.

The Trigger Plate is also a button that turns on channels when you stand on it, but you don’t have to keep standing on it for the channels to remain on.

The Activated Balloon Small and the Activated Balloon Large are both uninflated balloons. You can use a channel control — a Pressure Plate or a Trigger Plate — to inflate them.

Immense Improvements

The Battle Bus update has a heap of upgrades throughout LEGO® Fortnite® Odyssey that make the game even better and more convenient.

For example, the new Codex helps in a lot of ways, providing you with information on things you’ve found. Just open your menu, move to the Codex tab, and you can learn a lot. Highlight tools and weapons, and the Codex will tell you what materials you need and where you can make them. Highlight an enemy, and you’ll learn how they fight.

Your map has several upgrades, too. You can go way farther out than you could before. There’s a cursor to make navigating with the map while using a controller easier. You can drop a marker on the map to help you explore.

Your inventory has gotten larger, and you now have 32 slots.

In the Build menu, you can filter by theme or set. That makes it easier to find the piece you’re looking for.

And you can now name your Villages!
