As your child grows through their pre-school years, we make sure that LEGO® DUPLO® grows with them, with quality building sets that excite their curious minds and support them reaching their development milestones.

That’s why we’ve curated these suggested age ranges, to help guide you to the perfect set for your little learner.

Of course, you know your child better than anyone, and you might discover that their perfect set is in an older or younger age range.

But rest assured, however old your toddler, whatever their interests and whatever their developmental journey – we’ve got them covered.

For 1.5+ years

The journey of discovery begins… Our sets are designed to develop the fine motor skills of the littlest hands as they master our big bricks. Our brick boxes are filled with interesting bricks, pieces and characters, encouraging kids to build and rebuild their toy towers and recognize animals and everyday objects as well as their ABCs and 123s!

Resilience starts here. Through trial and error, kids start figure out how to click two bricks together. They also begin to express their emotions, discovering the diverse LEGO DUPLO characters, vehicles, toys and elements. And with every new creation made and puzzle solved, confidence flourishes.

For 2+ years

Through explorative play kids begin experimenting with more complex building structures. As their knowledge of their world develops, we start introducing beloved toy characters and figures from their favorite themes, to support learning and creative role-play.

Resilience continues, as kids begin to build bigger and understand how to make more complex structures. Kids might also start to craft their own stories by including real-life and fantasy superheroes playsets to inspire their playtime narratives. As they get more accustomed to LEGO DUPLO construction toys, they’ll also start realizing that differently shaped bricks can still fit together.

For 3+ years

Our most complex LEGO DUPLO sets encourage toddlers to make creations that are unique to them, with a focus on decoration and function. Plus, get ready for role-play with beloved characters and themes that will fire their imagination!

Resilience is strengthened as kids embrace challenges introduced by our most advanced DUPLO sets. Self-expression is very much part of the play, as kids build their own stories and explore engaging functionalities, such as with our feature-packed, sense-stimulating interactive train sets. Confidence grows as youngsters share their many and varied creations with the people they love most… People like you!

For 4+ years

At this point in time, your child might be up for new challenges and moving onto (so-called…) ‘normal’-sized bricks. If so, there’s no better place for them to start than our specially dedicated 4+ page, filled with sets that are tailored to 4-year-old’s hands and their emerging passions and interests. Help your kid get started bridging the gap between LEGO DUPLO and the rest of that big, wide, LEGO world!
