Verified Parental Consent for LEGO® Play App

At the LEGO Group, we create online play experiences where kids can have fun, play and be creative, while always striving to be best-in-class when it comes to our users’ online safety. Through VPC, we prioritize the creation of experiences with users’ rights and well-being in mind.

Verification

To create a safer environment for kids, we need to verify that the consent is given by an adult. Up until now, we have verified parents using email, but as legislation and safety standards continue to improve, we have decided to opt for a more secure way by asking for either ID or credit/debit card details instead. Verification is absolutely free and we will not store any details.

Steps for verification

The whole thing will take no more than a couple of minutes and once you have completed verification, you will never have to do it again!

The easiest way to get started is to ask your child to share a photo on LEGO Play of something they have built

A screen will appear telling your child to ask a parent for verification

Have your ID card or credit/debit card ready and then follow the on-screen instructions

Choose which online activities your child should have access to via the parental control dashboard

Unlock even more

Besides making the LEGO® Play app a safer place for your child, verification also unlocks even more features in the app for your child to enjoy!

With a verified account, your child can:

Upload and share photos
