What do you do when a cat smashes Thor’s hammer?

Every day is different in our Consumer and Shopper Engagement team. Some days you’re tracking down an order, others you’re helping to fix Thor’s hammer after it got smashed by a cat. Thankfully, our Customer Service Advisors in Enfield, Connecticut are the type of people who love solving all kinds of brick-based problems.

We spoke with Chelsea and Melanny to find out more about what makes them tick and to get the full lowdown on that Thor-cat story.

First things first, tell us what you’re good at:

Chelsea

“As a silly, happy and positive person, I’m able to turn a good situation into an even better one. The conversations I get to have with people are fun and not just transactional. I get to make people laugh and bring joy into their day.”

Melanie

“I would have to say focus. I decide what I want to accomplish and then work with the resources and team around me to get it done. To rescue an order stuck in customs. To secure that perfect gift. To get our fans the help they need when they call in.”

Melanny

What’s your proudest moment so far?

Chelsea

“I have so many. It’s hard to pick one. But I’d have to go with what’s become known as the ‘cat call’. A customer's cat had knocked over his Mjölnir set. He was left with a few broken pieces - that’s one strong cat! The customer had called to pay for the pieces. I figured he’d paid enough already, so it was my pleasure to take pride in sending them free, not to mention making one more customer extremely happy.”

“For me, it was definitely moving into a multilingual role. I had to learn about so many new markets. It's definitely more information with new challenges, but we’re set up with access to a wealth of knowledge. There’s an amazing team here, so you can always find answers for even the trickiest questions.”

Melanny

How does working with your team bring out the best in you?

Chelsea

“There is endless support to help me do better. I have been here for two and a half years and have grown tremendously in all aspects. My team leader is remarkable – she’ll do anything to make sure I’m supported. My team is always there too. They give me a sense of belonging and are my work family. We have a special bond that I know will be with me for life.”

Melanie

“The team - the whole culture actually - is the best thing about working here. It’s very encouraging to be surrounded by smiles and a positive attitude. When I first started working here, a lot of my teammates and even other advisors I had met made sure that I knew that I could reach out to them for help or questions.
It's really an awesome group of people. We have a lot of fun. There's always something new to look forward to, and there's a lot of opportunity for growth.”
