  Gather your baking materials

  

  You’ll need a big bowl, a big spoon, a pile of bricks and a large DUPLO plate.

  Pour some bricks into the bowl

  

  Give them a good stir – keep going until the brick batter feels right. It should make a clacking sound when you drop a brick into the bowl.

  Assemble the cake

  

  Time to get your hands dirty. Pick up bits of brick batter and layer them on top of the large DUPLO plate.

  Put the cake in the oven (not the real oven)

  

  You could use a toy kitchen or decorate a shoebox to look like an oven – whatever works for you! Set a timer. (Maybe try another activity while you’re waiting.)

  Decorate your cake

  

  Take it out of the oven – you might want to use oven gloves. Then give it a good wafting to cool it down. 

  Now you’re ready to decorate – go wild! And share the cake with your friends and family when you’re finished.
