Job Description

The Vice President, LEGO® Brand Retail Stores Americas & EMEA is responsible for profitable and sustainable sales growth by delivering a world-class, premium branded in-store experience in LEGO® branded stores across Americas and EMEA, while enabling employees to grow and operate at their very best. This includes delivering commercial targets that enable future investment in the LEGO® brand, as well as working laterally across supporting functions and business areas to drive operational improvements, elevate experiential retailing and bring the brand strategy to life.

This person will contribute to the strategic direction of LEGO® Retail overall (online, offline and supporting functions), which informs and supports the broader LEGO® Group strategy. The leader in this role will develop and represent a coherent vision for branded stores and foster collaboration between functions in their area, across LEGO® Retail, and all other functions, in a way that optimises the impact of all touchpoints across the LEGO® Group ecosystem.

This leader will report into the Head of LEGO® Retail and manage a leadership team of ~8, with a broader stores team of ~4,600.

Core responsibilities:

  • Store Operations, in-store experience and productivity

    • Elevate team standards and challenge status quo

    • Use consumer perspective and insights to successfully anticipate and respond to the needs of guests and shoppers

  • Retail excellence: Ensure that LEGO® Branded stores are supported with data-driven, objective insights and process improvements that help to improve store productivity.

  • Retail Training: Leverage professional expertise for the benefit of the broader organisation – in terms of performance, development and disseminating knowledge.

  • Strategic orientation: Set long-term direction that shapes functional plans for LEGO® Branded stores. Identifies opportunities to further develop LEGO® Branded stores across Americas and EMEA, driving consistency in both execution and experience.

  • Enterprise leadership: As a member of the LEGO® Retail Leadership team, contribute to the overall strategic direction and performance of LEGO® retail, including talent development and building a shopper-obsessed, omnichannel culture/attitude.

  • Effective communication: Clearly articulate organisational strategy and help the LEGO® Branded stores organisation to connect their contributions together between region, and with the wider company plans.

  • Team leadership: Build high performing teams that learn from each other, succeed together and operate as One Team.

  • Commercial orientation and delivery: Delivers the LEGO® Branded Retail growth plan, as well as optimises store profitability. Ensures high performance by focusing on excellence in execution, delivering sustainable results, and constant improvement in service of the shopper.

  • Collaboration: Develop strong working relationships with local and global teams.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Proven retail store operations and general retail management experience, plus a strong understanding of contemporary retail management and tools and POS systems

  • Passion for experiential and branded retail experience

  • Holistic understanding of a retail eco-system to include, but not limited to: in store experience, real estate, omnichannel and e-commerce experience, distribution networks, employment law etc.

  • Proven commercial delivery, with demonstrable ability to drive strong results, move major initiatives forward and deliver top and bottom line impact

  • Strong experience in setting clear strategic visions and team direction, as well as influencing and shaping corporate strategy beyond own area

  • Outstanding communication skills that drive clear understanding at all levels, and enable effective corporate decision-making. Excellence in senior stakeholder management and diplomacy and ability to build strong, collaborative relationships.

  • Demonstrable experience in leading and developing a diverse, high-performing team; fostering collaboration across teams and countries, building talent pipelines and developing a culture of accountability and clear purpose
