Core Responsibilities

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Work to Support and Implement the Strategic Initiatives of Category EMS, thereby achieving the PEM Strategic Initiatives

Operations Management:

  • To lead Global Operations Initiatives

  • To lead and support in Contract Negotiations & Price Negotiations

Implementation of Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM) and Value Engineering:

  • JDM is a new Engagement Model that LEGO is embarking on with our EMS

  • New Ways of Working and a New Governance Model need to be created and aligned within

  • Similarly, Value Engineering creates new opportunities for LEGO but also creates new processes and complexities

  • Complex Negotiations and Agreements will be needed

Implementation of EMS Strategy:

  • 3-year EMS Strategy to transform the EMS supplier base

  • High level of focus and negotiation with key partners and management of the suppliers on the assessment, implementation and transformation

  • Negotiation of contracts and agreements and implement strategic plans

  • Review and Update EMS Strategy

Implementation of Electronics Commodity Strategy:

  • Management of Distributors, Independent Distributors

  • Key Account Management for Electronics Suppliers

  • Create and implement Strategy for Off-the-Shelf Electronics Component suppliers

  • Align and jointly manage LEGO’s Strategic Electronics Suppliers

  • Implement Pfp Strategy for Electronics Commodities

  • Contract and Price Negotiations

The mission of Procurement Function is to ensure Global Supply Base Operational Excellence while complying to LEGO requirements. The role may be called upon to take on Special Projects out of the normal scope of work and implement Strategic Initiatives.

Do you have what it takes:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related fields
  • Min 15 years’ relevant working experience in:
  • 1. Procurement in an EMS Environment
  • 2. Strategic Procurement Experience working in the Electronics Industry (PCBA & Box Build), Electronics Components and Mechanical Commodities knowledge
  • 3. Operations Procurement Activities (Budget management, Negotiations, PPV/PfP management, Cost Management, Change process etc)
  • 4. EMS Supplier Management & Negotiations
  • 5. Experience in SMT/Box Build Manufacturing Environment, Automation in Manufacturing, Line Balancing
  • 6. Project Management of Complex Products/Programs
  • Proficient in ERP such as SAP and Oracle
  • Familiar with New Product Introduction (NPI) procurement activities
  • Proactive and collaborative, excellent communication skills, especially with Senior Management
  • Possess a Strategic Mentality and Strong Business Sense, ability to see and develop opportunities and able to influence business partners
