Core Responsibilities
Indirect tax and Direct tax – activities for all entities within EMEA:
- Coordination of EMEA VAT and CIT compliance as well as VAT and CIT accounting process including initiation of continuous improvements
- Preparation and Review of EMEA VAT returns, EU Sales Listing, Intrastat returns, CIT returns
- Indirect and direct taxes reconciliation review or preparation, guidance and support
- Coordinate EMEA VAT and CIT compliance issues/questions (internal and external)
- Coordinate exception report process
- Close collaboration with business processes in indirect and direct taxes controls implementation
- Monitor and review of key indirect and direct tax controls and resolve or escalate identified risks
- Participate and support indirect and direct tax audits
- Proactive collaboration with other members of the team in the area of indirect and direct taxes
- Training of the BSO Tax Ops team members in controls performance and documentation and other indirect tax trainings
- Active participation in the project connected with the SAP tax set up

The LEGO Group has established for its various functions including the finance and tax functions the Business Services Organisation (BSO), with the key three global centers, one of them being in Prague. Within the finance function, the Tax Ops organisation has been formed as a separate organisation to serve the tax area, in collaboration with the Global Center of Excellence for Tax and with the Global Strategic Tax department.
The EMEA region covers more than 30 company codes and more than 30 tax registrations in various countries within EMEA region.
Do you have what it takes?
- VAT experience gained within an international environment
- VAT compliance background including preparation and review of returns
- Sound knowledge of EU indirect tax laws and regulations
- Proficiency in the English language is essential
- Ideally this individual will be skilled in the use of SAP
- Knowledge of Indirect Tax accounting and financial reporting processes
- Understanding of internal indirect tax controls
- Strong business sense & analytical skills with attention to detail
- General CIT knowledge, preferably including experience with preparation and review of CIT returns
