Job Description

We're looking for someone to coordinate the strategic sourcing of integrated circuits and lead the commercial aspects of our future sensor and interface components! You'll partner with our Creative Play Labs to build the future of the LEGO brand in the digital era of our company.

Core Responsibilities

Category Management

  • This role will cover the broader portfolio of electronic components for sensing and interfacing, eg. color sensors, displays, speakers, microphones, haptic components, RF-inlays etc.

  • Bring Procurement Category Management into our Strategic Sourcing Team (SST).

  • Apply segmentation tools over the supply base while activating your strong negotiation strategies and “should costing” methodologies using objective market indices.

  • Drive the Purchasing Pricing Variance and Partner for Productivity monthly reporting for your key component clusters (including budgeting).

  • Bring the Sustainability Ambition into the key component sourcing domain, driving the Live Cycle Assessment concepts driving our target realization.

  • Own and lead resilience streams, managing the dependency of the LEGO Group's revenue from suppliers by deep insight of the critical supplier nodes upstream in its value chain.

  • Apply the relevant digital tools in the above e.g. Coupa application as procurement tool etc.

Strategic Sourcing Team (SST)

  • Lead the SST (tandem procurement – technology staff) together with Development colleagues for identified category package of key components.

  • Define and lead the supplier selection strategy, the related supplier technology roadmap for your defined category of components and get final validation from the SST SteerCo team.

  • Secure access to and steer influence of the full ecosystem of supplier technology roadmaps, securing our technical interests and driving the design-in activity to success.

  • Lead global contract negotiation covering all aspects (technical design, capacity, commercial, legal, IP, quality, supply, compliance, sustainability) with the selected suppliers and own the contract update status.

  • Offer the contracts for deployments (and use) in novelty projects to the project procurement leaders and assist them in initiating the project specific Statement of Works (SoW) into the contracts while maintaining contract integrity. Provide the Component NRE and CAPEX/OPEX for leadership to integrate into SoW.

  • Understand the complications of IP ownership and contracting, T&Cs in these contracts.

Relationship/ stakeholder management

  • Drive partner management on high level with supplier management, which is critical to our Digital System Play.

  • Ensure strong collaboration with the innovation teams and product technology teams which are globally dispersed.

  • Own Supplier Relationship Management by driving regular performance business review meetings and the annual Top Management Meeting (C level).

Parts External Manufacturing’s (P&EM) mission is to design/engineer, source, plan and deliver new parts to the LEGO Group in consistently high quality through global 3rd party design & manufacturing network partners. The mission of Procurement is to ensure our access to key component global supply base, operation excellence and compliance of LEGO requirements for procurement by suppling market intelligence, sourcing strategy and benchmarking for related categories.

This opportunity will place you at the forefront of defining the future positioning of the LEGO Group's brand in the digital era of the company versus its customer base i.e. the children. It also presents you with exciting challenges working in a highly collaborative environment, and learning from experienced colleagues.

Do you have what it takes?

  • 7+ relevant working experience in capacity of Procurement engineering or Product manager in the category industry

  • Good insight and experience with the full SoC value chain, and familiarity with ASIC industrialization

  • Knowledge of the Semiconductor suppliers eco system, considering tool chain offerings, open source approach and others to have a comprehensive understanding of the supplier capabilities

  • Negotiation skills in areas beyond costing e.g. patent & royalty negotiations, joint development agreements, roadmapping negotiations, and other agreements…

  • Understanding system houses and contracting specifics of system houses (IP and governance related)

  • Having good understanding of capacity development in supply base

  • Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills, capable of fostering and nurturing relationships with collaborators and partners at a global and senior level

  • Experience with RF-tags and audio highly preferred

  • Willingness and ability to travel

New Location Update

This position will initially be based at our LEGO office at either Boylston St or St. James, Back Bay, Boston before moving to a new central Boston office location by the end of 2026. Our hiring teams will discuss this with you during the interview stages.

Compensation

The salary for this position has a range of $124,700 - $187,000 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
