Core Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing our General Ledger team responsible for the Danish region and the Nordics
  • Being the promoter of our improvement initiatives leading to automation, or new system implementation
  • Delivering a top-performing, customer- and service oriented culture where the outside-in approach is starting point for all processes
  • Constantly strive to optimize processes and work procedures using the LEGO Continuous improvement approach across functional areas
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations (local GAAPS and IFRS) in managing group reporting as well as statutory financial statements for defined entities
  • Building and strengthening partners' relations across areas and geographies including collaboration and culture (incl. Business Controllers, Treasury, Tax, Group Reporting, internal and external auditors)
  • Managing and providing guidance for more advanced execution of GL processes (e.g. monthly and yearly closing, reconciliations)
  • Input to strategic stream plan and its regional execution

This is a fixed-term opportunity for 3 years, with high chance of prolonging the cooperation afterwards.

The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center that delivers HR and Finance services to the entire LEGO Group from 3 locations; Monterrey, Kladno and Singapore. The purpose of the BSO is to create an effective and efficient platform for growth to support our strategy and reach twice as many kids over the next 5-7 years.

The General Ledger (GL) department ensures support of the entire EMEA region.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Proven professional experience within the functional area demonstrating profound GL process knowledge and deep experience leading to concrete business results
  • Experience with leading people
  • Experience of working and driving a highly collaborative environment in a global setting, promoting coherence and the end-to-end perspective
  • SAP experience
  • Energized, positive personality with the ability to see the "big picture"
  • Be robust, resilient and ability to adopt changes, as well as having a proactive mind with a can-do attitude
  • Personal drive and initiative, excellent collaboration skills and proven ability to build trust and credibility with assigned business areas or other key partners
  • Significant business and market understanding both at operational and tactical level
  • Experience working with Continuous Improvements / Lean / Sigma would be appreciated
