Forecasting:
Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts by analyzing historical data, market trends, seasonality, and promotional activities.
Utilize forecasting tools and statistical models to generate forecasts.
Adjust forecasts based on changes in market conditions, sales trends, and other drivers.
Retail Planning:
Track and project on key metrics, including footfall, conversion rate, and average transaction value.
Collaborative Planning:
Facilitate demand review process and meetings and drive consensus plan with sales, marketing and merchandising team.
Work closely with sales, marketing, and merchandising teams to incorporate promotional events, new product introductions, and discontinuations into demand forecasts.
Coordinate with the promotion team and retail marketing team to plan promotional materials.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze key data sources including sales trends, customer preferences, inventory turnover, and market insights to refine demand plans.
Monitor and measure forecast accuracy and continuously refine forecasting methods for better predictability.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation in planning and inventory management.
Develop and implement best practices to improve forecast accuracy and inventory optimization.
Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and methodologies to support continuous improvement in planning.

The Retail Planner is responsible for forecasting and managing consumer sales & inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels across retail locations. This role is pivotal in balancing product availability and minimising excess inventory, with a focus on data-driven forecasting, collaborative planning, and inventory optimisation. Working closely with sales, marketing, supply chain, and purchasing teams, the Retail Planner ensures products are available to meet customer demand while supporting business profitability.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is preferred. A Master’s degree or professional certification(e.g., APICS, CPIM) is a plus.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in demand planning, inventory management, or a similar role, preferably in a retail environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in demand forecasting software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis), and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
Problem Solving Skills: Ability to identify problems quickly and devise solutions to manage demand fluctuations and inventory challenges.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast paced environment.
