Job Description

The QEHS Director is the future leader of the Quality & EHS department in LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam (LMV).

This role will report directly to the General Manager of LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam and be members of LMV Leadership Team; the position is also member of the global Quality &EHS Wheel.

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide to LEGO Manufacturing (LMV) Leadership Team the right QEHS insights to support the activation of strategic priorities and ensure work class safety culture and wellbeing.

  • Ensure safe products with the right quality by deploying efficient quality control & quality assurance solutions following the LEGO Product Safety Handbook, Product Quality Handbook and other global standards.

  • Ensure that the global EHS standards described in the Global EHS Handbook are deployed locally in LMV in order to safeguard the health and safety of the employees

  • Lead, develop and manage LMV Quality & EHS team including all related leadership responsibilities promoting LEGO values and ONE LEGO Team spirit.

  • Responsible to deploy, maintain and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System at LMV, according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

  • Deploy global quality and safety KPIs for Quality & EHS personnel.

  • Report Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety results internally and to the global Quality & EHS organization.

  • Secure a fast containment and effective corrective action from quality and safety problems.

  • Develop the Quality& EHS department budget.

  • Participate in global Quality & EHS Wheel to secure alignment of global procedures between LEGO manufacturing sites.

  • Secure that LMV Quality Managers participate in the Quality Networks led by Quality Platform Leaders.

  • Drive internal audit in accordance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 including writing and performing the yearly management review towards local Leadership Team.

  • Immediately notify the Product Safety and Compliance department on PS issues on products that have left the factory (stop list)

Do you have what it takes?

  • 5 years or more of experience providing direction and leadership to personnel and teams.

  • 10 years or more of experience working in Quality and/or EHS in a Manufacturing environment (medium to large global companies preferably)

  • Bachelor’s degree on Engineering or related, Master’s degree or related is a plus

  • Willing to travel, 2-3 times per year regionally / overseas

  • Ideally with proven experience in Plastic Injection Molding, Assembly, and manual manufacturing processes.

  • Excellent abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods.

  • Six Sigma methods application and Minitab experience are a plus.

  • Proven experience using Continuous Improvement tools (Kaizen / Lean Manufacturing)

  • Certification as Internal auditor in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 is a plus.

  • Proficient in MS Office.
