Core Responsibilities

In this position as Manager, it will be your core responsibility to lead, manage and support the day shift team of 40 colleagues, while ensuring that the production runs smoothly and efficiently. You will play a key role in driving improvements, ensuring safety, and delivering high-quality results every day. More specifically, you will:

  • Coach and develop team members to build skills and create a strong team culture

  • Support and guide the team members to follow standardized work and improve processes where needed

  • Manage one-to-one dialogues, People Review Process, Employee Changes, People Development Plan, Skill Matrix, etc. 

  • Ensure daily production targets are met with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC)

  • Apply visual tools to track daily performance and address issues quickly in daily huddles, etc.

  • Drive a safe work environment by addressing safety issues and leading by example in safety practices

  • Work closely with LEGO® Engineering to solve technical issues and ensure quality in the production processes

  • Identify areas for improvement and drive simple, practical changes to improve efficiency and reduce waste

You will join the Insert Factory team in Billund producing high-quality mould parts for the LEGO® production. The team is consisting of 61 colleagues, located in Denmark and Mexico, all aiming for manufacturing single piece mould components in an industrialized way. This is the center of excellence, and therefore they are always seeking for the best in terms of quality, efficiency and costs. 

This leadership role will directly impact how well we meet customer demands and improve our operations.

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate comes with a technical background or experience in manufacturing processes, such as CNC machining, LEAN Manufacturing or equivalent. In addition, you bring:   

  • Strong leadership skills to manage, support and motivate a team to achieve daily production goals. You have proven leadership examples either, from a role as Team Coordinator, Supervisor, Lead or equivalent, or from driving informal leadership processes 

  • Strong understanding and application of problem-solving methods such as Define-Measure-Analyze-Implement-Control (DMAIC), 5 Whys and Practical Problem Solving (PPS) to resolve production issues

  • Practical knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles and a strong focus on continuous improvement

  • Ability to manage and improve SQDC metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) and drive operational performance

  • Clear and effective communication skills to coordinate with teams and resolve issues quickly

  • Proficiency in English and Danish both written and verbal

  • Ability to work daily in Billund

Furthermore, it would be an advantage, if you have:

  • Experience in production planning or scheduling to optimize workflow and resources

  • Familiarity with project management principles or involvement in projects related to manufacturing improvements

  • Previous experience in implementing new processes or systems in a production environment

  • Knowledge of quality management systems, including defect tracking and First Time Through (FTT)

  • Experience working with SAP
