Well, here is your chance! We are looking for a hardworking colleague to give to the model development process and to support the design team in creating products that meet the needs of kids of all ages around the world!

Core Responsibilities

Design Quality Coaches (or Model Coaches as we call them internally) are accountable for:

  • Support the product development plan and the Quality Assurance process, to secure quality in LEGO experiences
  • Safeguard quality with a special focus on play promise and safety
  • Guide model development towards combining great design appeal with high quality experiences that can be handled by consumers
  • Work as a team and provide support on all experiences that requires model coach support and collaboration
  • Work as a team to identify if products have the right age mark fit by applying insights and knowledge on consumer capabilities
  • Recognize building pitfalls, model stability issues and technical challenges to identify and ensure a great play
  • Have a consumer centric approach to coaching and guide LEGO designers to make design decisions based on consumer insights

The Model Governance Team sits within the LEGO® Design organization, supporting the model design development by driving the Model Quality Assurance process. This is a team environment where there is a clear passion for the building journey and play experience, and for applying relevant tools from e.g. Rhino, NX calculation and consumer testing. In addition, our expert coaches act as a source of expertise to other designers and specialists, on diverse topics such as consumer capabilities, model stability, element platforms and material performance etc.

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate has proven experience with product development processes while making vital adjustments during the process to maintain the overall goal and deadlines.

A strong collaborative mentality and great communication skills. Experience with guideline development or communicating relevant information to users would be an advantage.

Good technical and functional understanding of bricks and plastics would have an added advantage.

Regarding the academical background, teaching studies or similar could be a benefit, and has a clear passion for kids related topics.

Moreover, someone who can demonstrate:

  • Demonstrate the ability guide and influence colleagues within own and other departments
  • Solid skills within communication and how to approach colleagues with constructive, timely and relevant feedback
  • Clear collaborative approach who loves to work with a very diverse set of people regarding profiles, roles and responsibilities
  • Proactivity in seeking and understanding consumer insights and translating insights into quality demands of a product experience
  • Strong in time plan management, together with the ability to lead many tasks and to cope with occasional high workload while keeping focus
