Code of Conduct

Last update: 23. April 2024

This Code of Conduct applies to all visitors to any LEGO Group platforms, websites, or apps. This includes users, LEGO account holders, and anyone else who posts on the platforms or sites. Violations of the Code of Conduct on one platform, website, or app may result in consequences on other platforms, sites, or apps. This Code of Conduct is a living document subject to changes and it will be reviewed annually. It will be updated if new issues and situations arise. It is not exhaustive: violations of the spirit of this Code of Conduct are not allowed.

Purpose

We want everyone to feel totally comfortable sharing, discussing, posting, and connecting on our online platforms, websites and apps. We don’t expect everyone to have the same views, but we do want everyone to feel like they belong. Hate and discrimination have no home here. If we think someone is making others unwelcome, we’ll put a stop to it. And we’d encourage you to report any violations, so that together we can keep our community spaces safe, inclusive, and fun. These guidelines outline what we will and will not allow in our communities. They’re subject to change and we’ll review them regularly to make sure they’re up to date. By sharing these, we hope you’ll play your part in making the LEGO Group’s communities awesome for everyone!

Rules

  • Respect other users. Keep your remarks constructive and respectful. Don’t be offensive, abusive, humiliating or intimidating and don’t use profanity, debate, attack, or harass others. It’s just not cool.
  • Keep your comments and posts clean. The LEGO Group’s platforms, websites and apps are positive, empowering spaces. Don’t make comments or submit any other content containing hate speech or content related to alcohol, drugs, tobacco, politics, religion, sex (including non-consensual sexual or intimate images); any kind of content containing realistic or extreme violence, or content intended to shock or disgust other people.
  • Harassment is unacceptable. This includes, but is not limited to, comments, non-verbal expressions, or imagery that demeans or disparages a person or group based on:
    • race, ethnicity, or native language
    • sex, gender, gender identity or expression
    • language
    • sexual orientation
    • physical or mental disability
    • physical appearance, body size, or presentation
    • age
    • religious or political beliefs, including lack of religious beliefs
    • marital or family status
    • nationality, citizenship status, or geographic location
    • employment or military status
    • socioeconomic status
  • Intimidation, stalking, sustained disruption, inappropriate physical or virtual contact, or unwelcome attention, including sexual attention are not permitted. Likewise, any user who threatens, intimidates, harasses or humiliates other users may have their content removed, or, for repeated or serious breaches of this section, have their LEGO account suspended or terminated.
  • Posts containing illegal content will be removed. This includes posts or content containing references to child sexual exploitation material, pro-terror material, crime and violence material, prohibited drug material, any criminal offences involving the health or safety of a person, or any content that (either itself or in relation to an activity), does not comply with local laws.
  • Respect intellectual property and give credit where it is due. It is each user’s responsibility to obtain permission for any material they post that is not their own. Please include copyright notices where appropriate, ask for creator information where unknown, and be prepared to include credits if they are found after you post. Any content which infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights will be removed.
  • Do not advertise, preach, or campaign. The LEGO Group’s websites and apps are not venues for preaching or disseminating your political, or religious views. They are also not a venue to advertise any business, non-profit, or charitable cause. We will remove comments or submissions that intend to advertise (including requests to buy, sell, donate, sign petitions, or trade things), campaign, or promote a political/religious viewpoint as well as content intended to put down a political/religious/social belief held by another person or group of people.
  • Do not share confidential information. Sharing confidential or leaked LEGO Group content or otherwise damaging content is strictly prohibited. We will suspend or ban accounts that share such information.
  • Try to make your content as accessible as possible. Use alt text for images, caption video content where possible, and use high-contrast color schemes when using color. To learn more about accessibility, helpful resources include the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Accessibility page.
  • Post as yourself. Do not impersonate any other people or entities that you are not affiliated with.
  • Respect others’ privacy. Never share someone else’s personal details on LEGO Group platforms, websites, or apps. You may voluntarily link to your social media accounts on your public LEGO account profile, but please do not share your email address, phone number, or other contact details. Never share someone else’s personal details that are not readily available on their public LEGO account profile.
  • Don’t try to scam or mislead other users or the LEGO Group. The LEGO Group will remove content and may suspend users or terminate their accounts if they participate in any action which, in the LEGO Group’s judgment, intentionally misleads or defrauds another user. This can include, for example, posting misleading content, by unlawfully trading in-game items, or by attempting to scam or trick other users into revealing confidential or personal information. This can also include lying about your age in order to mislead other users, or to obtain a LEGO account with adult privileges when you are below 18 years old.
  • Do not attempt to compromise the LEGO Group’s sites or systems. Do not transmit or facilitate the transmission of any content that contains a virus, corrupted data, Trojan horse, bot, keystroke logger, worm, time bomb, cancelbot or other computer programming routines that are intended to and/or actually damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or mine, scrape or expropriate any system, data or personal information on the LEGO Group’s platforms, websites, or apps.
  • Our moderators enforce these rules. We reserve the right to remove any post or content that violates these rules at our sole discretion. Repeated or severe violations can result in suspension or termination of your LEGO account. Circumventing or attempting to circumvent disciplinary measures, including registering for, or using a new LEGO account after being suspended or banned, are similarly breaches of these rules.

Where to go for help

If you think you have seen activity that violates the letter or the spirit of our Terms or Code of Conduct, please alert our moderators:

  • Click here to report a post: Customer Service
  • Use the “Report” button on a specific post

The moderators will confirm receipt of all non-anonymous reports as promptly as they can, usually within the next business day.

Don’t abuse the reporting system. Repeated unfounded complaints about another user or users can be conduct that is itself harassing and contrary to the spirit of this Code of Conduct. Users which abuse the reporting system with repeated unfounded complaints may have their LEGO account suspended or even terminated.
