Whip up five festive donut rings

Steps

  • Step 1

    Get your apron on

Find an apron if you have one. If you don’t, a tea towel tucked into your t-shirt can work just as well.

Find a clear, flat surface that you can use for your kitchen. A table, desk or even a comfy spot on the floor will do! Finally, get a clean mixing bowl and a big spoon to help with mixing the ingredients.

  • Step 2

    Build your donuts

Pour your LEGO® bricks into your mixing bowl and give them a good stir. After you’ve mixed your bricks, it’s time to start assembling your five donut rings. You can use LEGO hinge bricks to make a ring out of rectangular bricks – or you can use flat bricks to make bigger, squarer donuts.

How big you make them is up to you. Try making the smallest donut you can, and then have a go at making the biggest.

  • Step 3

    Add the toppings

Now you’ve got all five donuts, it’s time to add the toppings. Think about how you want them to look. Do you want lots of sprinkles, or only a few, and would it look better with or without icing?

If you can’t decide, try drawing your donut designs on paper before bringing them to life.

  • Step 4

    Plate up

Whether on a plate you’ve made from LEGO® bricks, or one you have in your kitchen, arrange your donuts nicely with your favorite ones on top. The holiday season is all about giving, so be sure to offer them out to friends and family. (Just remember, you can’t actually eat these donuts for real!)

Let’s talk!

  • What are your favorite sweet treats and why?
  • What other seasonal foods can you think of?
  • Would you like to try some baking in real life?
