How to get Marble in LEGO® Fortnite®

The more you play in LEGO® Fortnite®, the more discoveries you will make. It rewards your effort and constantly gives you more to strive for.

Marble is a great example of new opportunities to unlock. It's a precious stone, so unlike granite, you will need to craft the right tool to collect it. Mining Marble will unlock new recipes to make even more powerful items and beautiful home decor to customize your village.

In this LEGO Fortnite story, we’ll tell you how to find and gather Marble.

LEGO Fortnite resources, explained

LEGO Fortnite is a game about gathering resources that help you survive and thrive. Wood helps you build a Campfire, which keeps away the cold at night, for example.

Materials like Wood and Granite are super helpful early in the game, but you’ll need stronger versions of each as you make progress. Flexwood is a stronger version of Wood, for example.

Marble is, in essence, a stronger version of Granite – a sturdier rock that allows you to create sturdier things. Let’s go get some.

Prepare for your adventure

Before you leave on your adventure, make sure you have the right equipment. You don’t want to get all the way there just to find out that you left something back in your Village.

There’s a Cave in your future, so Craft yourself a Torch with 3 Wood and 5 Vines. We also love to light our Caves with Campfires, which only take 3 Wood to make. So feel free to put a bunch of Wood in your inventory and start Campfires all around the Cave you’ll be exploring.

You need to craft an Uncommon Pickaxe, or you won’t be able to cut through the Marble and add the resource to your inventory. Swing a Common Pickaxe at Marble, and it’ll bounce right off of the hard rock. To make an Uncommon Pickaxe, craft 3 Knotroot Rods at a Lumber Mill and 3 Bones from the Skeletons that appear in your world every night.

Before you set out on a Knotroot-gathering adventure, you’ll need the right equipment.

You’ll need to craft an Uncommon Forest Axe, or you won’t be able to cut through the tough Knotroot branches and gather the resource.

To make an Uncommon Forest Axe, collect 3 Bones by defeating Skeletons that claw their way out of the ground at night, and make 3 Wooden Rods at a Lumber Mill that you build with 8 Wood and 15 Granite. You’ll also need to level up your Crafting Bench with 8 Planks from a Lumber Mill and 3 Shells from the crab-like Roller enemies.

After you have the right tool, it’s time to find the Knotroot.

It’s extremely likely that your LEGO Fortnite game began in a Grasslands biome, where lush trees and green grass sway in the wind over gentle hills that roll to the horizon. After you’ve survived your first few days, made a Crafting Bench, and created some tools and even weapons, you’re ready to explore. And what you should be looking for is a cave.

Also, make sure that your inventory has some slots to spare. This is a collection mission, so don’t show up with full pockets and nowhere to put your resources.

The simplest way to find a Cave is to start at your village, pick a direction, and start walking away. Maybe head up to a nearby hill, so that you can scan the surrounding area from its height. Look for large, gray rocks that are way taller than you are and way taller than the relatively small pieces of Granite you’ve been collecting in the early game.

If you don’t find a cave within a minute or two, you can head back to your village for safety and then head out in a different direction. Caves aren’t everywhere, but they’re usually not far, and they tend to sit on or around hills, so you should be able to see them from a distance.

Start exploring the cave, and look at the floor, ceilings and walls around you. You’ll see what look like big, gnarled roots sticking out in twisting shapes. That’s Knotroot. Chop away at it with your Uncommon Forest Axe, and you’ll start collecting the new resource.

You can use Knotroot to level up and create an Uncommon Pickaxe, which you can use to mine Marble in caves. You can also use a combination of Knotroot and Knotroot Rods to craft a series of more powerful Uncommon weapons and tools, like the Uncommon Longsword, the Uncommon Shovel, the Uncommon Fishing Rod, and the Uncommon Recursive Crossbow. Knotroot Rod is even a component in Dynamite. Knotroot and Knotroot Rods are also valuable resources used for upgrading your Village.

How to get Flexwood

Your Flexwood-gathering adventure will take you into the hot and sandy Dry Valley desert biome in LEGO Fortnite. And before you go there, you need to prepare in a bunch of ways.

A Dry Valley is a desert soaked in shimmering sunlight and full of craggy outcroppings and cacti. The moment you step inside, you’ll feel the heat. Unless it’s night, and then you’ll feel the cold.

To protect yourself against the heat, you can eat Snow Berries, which you’ll find growing on bushes in snowy Frostlands areas of the game. You can also make Snowberry Shakes with a Juicer and 2 Snow Berries plus 1 Milk.

To get Flexwood, you have to chop down a cactus. But just like you need to upgrade your axe to chop down Knotroot, you’ll need a better axe to chop down a cactus: the Rare Forest Axe.

To craft that, you have to upgrade to a Rare Crafting Bench using 12 Knotroot Rods, 15 Marble Slabs, 6 Sand Claws, and 3 Sand Shells. That’ll unlock the recipe for the Rare Forest Axe.

To craft a Rare Forest Axe, you need to collect 5 Cut Amber and collect or make 3 Knotroot Rods. You can find Rough Amber in the same Dry Valley biome that you can find cacti. It looks like yellow glowing ore fused to the side of rocks. Make sure that you have an Uncommon Pickaxe, or you won’t be able to mine it. Then you take that Rough Amber, put it in a Gem Cutter (crafted with 20 Marble Slabs, 5 Rough Amber, 5 Sand Claws and 3 Sand Shells), and you’ll turn it into Cut Amber.

You can use Flexwood to create all kinds of things, including the Glider, which requires Flexwood Rods. It also lets you create Rare versions of the Pickaxe, Crossbow, Health Charm and more. It’s your gateway to the next-best tier of tools, weapons, armor — and even a lot of decorations.

And that’s how to find two of LEGO Fortnite’s most valuable resources: Knotroot and Flexwood. Good luck, and happy gathering!
