Build a holiday adventure with eight pirates playing

• Step 1

  Design your crew

  

  Do you already have some LEGO® pirates in your collection? If you have, that’s great! You might have some faces with eye-patches readymade.

  If not, don’t worry, your merry band of baddies can look as swashbuckling or as seasonal as you like!

  Top tip:Parents/carers, get them in the mood with a playlist of sea shanties as well as seasonal classics. You could also encourage them to draw some pirates before they get started to help them picture the scene.
• Step 2

  Gather your booty of bricks

  

  You’ll need your tools to get this job done, so gather all the bricks you think you’ll need. This, of course, depends on how many pirates you’ll make, and whether you build a ship! Do you have lots of brown bricks or do you want to make it a holiday ship in festive party colors? The choice is yours!
• Step 3

  Build the gang

  

  So, you’ve got your ideas together, and your bricks. That means it’s time to make your pirates! How about timing yourself and a friend or sibling to see who can make four pirates each the quickest?
• Step 4

  Treasure your finished results

  

  It’s time to take a look at your seasonal sailors! Ask a grown-up to take some pics of you and the gang having fun, and don’t forget to throw in some festive sparkle – it could even make a great picture for a holiday card

  Top tip:Parents/carers, don’t be afraid to get stuck in and play with your children, having wintry adventures among the waves… as long as the water hasn’t frozen!
