Build a pet LEGO® goldfish

• Step 1

  Get inspired!

  

  Before you start, have a think about what makes a goldfish special. Is it their big round eyes, shimmering colors, or just the way they swim about? Think about how you can capture this in LEGO bricks.

  Fun fact: Goldfish have an excellent sense of smell. Maybe that’s why they always make a beeline for their fish food! But that’s not all – they can also hear. In fact, some enjoy classical music!
  
• Step 2

  Pick your bricks

  

  Next, it’s time to choose your bricks. See if you can find some transparent, glittery bricks to capture that all-important shimmer. Some big LEGO eyes will look great, but if you don’t have any, you can use round, circular studs instead.

  Top tip: Why not grab some LEGO towers, castles and treasure chests and build an aquarium scene? These are super fun for your goldfish to swim around. But you can choose whatever you like! You could even pick a space theme and let your goldfish explore the Moon.

  Build your LEGO® goldfish

  

  Now it’s time to create your LEGO goldfish. Don’t forget that you can make your creation as big, small, straightforward or wacky as you like!

  Fun fact: Goldfish normally have between 25 to 31 scales. See how many you can include on your LEGO version.
  
• Step 4

  Blow some bubbles and take a snap!

  

  When you’re done, take a picture to show your friends. For a finishing touch, you could blow some bubbles. That way, your LEGO build won’t look like a fish out of water!
