LEGO® World Record Tower: The last brick for the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title!
The aim of the event is to inspire children to develop their creativity, imagination and team-working skills in a joint attempt to break the current GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title of 34,76-meter tall LEGO tower, built in Budapest in 2014. As part of this building event, the LEGO Group will donate 7 Euros for every centimeter built of the LEGO® tower to Urban Oasis – a project, which focuses on the protection and development of Urban Oasis in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Urban Oasis sets out to increase citizens’ knowledge and appreciation for nature, to encourage us all to be more aware and responsible towards the environment we live in.
Hundreds of children and parents have already contributed enthusiastically to the building of the LEGO tower, which after only one day has already reached the height of 3,5 meters!
On June 21st at 4 pm, Alessandro Cattelan, who’s also hosting Catteland - a music program on Radio DEEJAY, will climb up the tower with a crane to lay the last brick that will break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Tallest structure built with interlocking plastic bricks. This happening will be witnessed by the official judge of Guinness World Records Lorenzo Veltri, also known for his participation on the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS TV show Lo Show dei Record.
