Director, Markets & Channels Communication, Western Europe

Core Responsibilities


Earned campaign development, planning, activation & evaluation (approx. 70%)

  • Drive Western Europe growth through insight-led execution, igniting earned media conversations to reinforce LEGO play values and stimulate brand desire
  • Represent regional market insights and needs via head of Markets & Channels Communications to optimize global campaign development
  • Be the voice of Earned PR within Western Europe regional and local marketing teams, ensuring earned channel prioritization and integration in, integrated commercial plans
  • Support and enable local teams to translate and adapt global campaigns into impactful local plans/activations across relevant channels (e.g; PR, Influencers, deep fans, events, etc.)
  • Manage campaign activation and evaluation to ensure consistency and executional excellence- capturing, sharing and actioning relevant findings
  • Lead & support local markets with agency relationships e.g; procurement, briefing best-practice, priority narratives, key messages, etc.

Communications generalist (approx. 10%)

  • Manage and maintain brand reputation across WEU markets
  • Skills and experience to support corporate communication activities and issue management (act as an extension of our global brand, responding to difficult issues, critical reporting & media relations, proactively or reactively communicating corporate positions)
  • Support strategic opportunities for communication in collaboration with local markets (e.g. sustainability)

Communications partnering (approx. 20%)

  • Utilise the resources of the global communications team to provide communication support to Regional President and leadership team (as required) including key communication moments (e.g. all-hands meetings such as sales conferences, Town Halls, organisational change, etc.)

This role leads and guides the regional adaptation and implementation of global campaigns across a range of earned channels, enabling earned media support in delivering business objectives. Sitting in the Western Europe Marketing team, it plays a critical in part ensuring local market teams can engage brand audiences, build brand love & drive innovation so the LEGO brand continues to grow as Western Europe’s leading toy brand.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Proven experience in communications (PR, Influencer, Events) or related field in marketing (both agency and in-house experience preferred)
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to envision solutions and develop sound strategies, tactical plans and related processes
  • Clear, concise, detailed communicator
  • Strong project management, planning and organizational skills, delivering multiple priorities simultaneously at scale with speed
  • Track record of influence, great instinct and decision making
  • Natural collaborator who excels in relationship building, stakeholder management and teamwork
  • Solid understanding of marketing ecosystem and track record creating successful integrated comms programs
  • Working in complex, global organizations and experience working in a regional role are advantageous
  • BA Degree or equivalent experience
  • English fluency required

  • Demonstrated team leadership ability and strong followership
  • Background in consumer packaged goods, family entertainment, gaming or toys preferred
  • Advantage: other Western European languages
