Just imagine dedicating an entire day at work to playing!

This is what we do on our Play Day – our annual, company-wide event where all LEGO® colleagues experience the power of learning through play, together.

Play Day is one of the main ways we live our values and vision of becoming a Global Force for Learning Through Play. Everyone across all our factories, hubs, offices and stores gets involved and engages in a social, joyful and meaningful way.

Play with purpose

There’s a bigger purpose behind all the fun. Ramboll’s 2023 study – The Impact of Workplace Play on Employee and Company Outcomes – found that play develops holistic skills and builds stronger connections between colleagues and teams. It increases wellbeing, creativity and innovation, too.

A different Play Day every year

In 2023, the UN recognized and supported every child’s right to play by ratifying an International Day of Play – a World Play Day. In 2025, all our colleagues will play alongside the rest of the world to celebrate playful creativity.

Our Play Days always have a different theme. In 2024, it was ‘Unplug and Play’, where our Play Day team created an event that challenged the balance between digital and physical play. Previous years included ‘Mysteries of Play’, where we spent the day playing detective and unlocking the personal meaning and benefits of play. In 2022, we celebrated our 90th anniversary with ’90 Years of Play’.

In addition to being fun, play increases trust within the team, fosters an experimental mindset and relieves stress. Prioritizing play helps us inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow.
