Our focus
We want children to inherit a healthy planet. We’re determined to play our part in making that happen and there’s no time to waste. Climate change is affecting life on Earth for plants, animals and people. Each year, we receive hundreds of letters from children with great ideas about how we can make a difference in the world and help care for the environment. We want them to know that we are listening, and that we are working hard to play our part in building a sustainable future and a more inclusive world.

At the LEGO Group, we put children at the heart of everything we do and we want to play our part in creating a better and more sustainable world for them to inherit.
Sustainability means the world to us
To reduce the environmental impact of all parts of our business, we are currently working on a broad range of initiatives, which include transitioning to more sustainable raw materials, using more sustainable packaging and making our business more circular. By 2025, we will have doubled our spending on sustainable initiatives compared to 2023.

The LEGO Group introduces tires made with recycled materials
The LEGO Group revealed tires made using over one-third recycled materials sourced from old fishing nets, ropes and engine oil. These new tires are already featured in select LEGO® sets, with a full transition planned for later this year.
The LEGO Group supports carbon removal solutions to expand sustainability efforts
The LEGO Group announced a DKK 19 million commitment towards four carbon removal projects in partnership with Climate Impact Partners and ClimeFi. The initiatives will support biochar, enhanced rock weathering and reforestation and will deliver carbon removal credits between 2024 and 2026.
Increase in solar capacity to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions
We have added 22 MWp of solar energy capacity to our operations globally since 2022. Major developments included doubling solar capacity in our factory in Kladno, Czech Republic and a 400% increase, at our headquarters in Billund, through the development of an off-site solar park.
