Building a 1:1-scale LEGO® McLaren P1™

The Ultimate Challenge with Lando Norris

We wondered if it was possible to drive a 1:1-size LEGO® Technic™ McLaren P1™ around Silverstone. People said it couldn’t be done.

So then we asked 23 design, engineering and building specialists from across the LEGO Group and McLaren Automotive to spend 8,344 hours building it. People still were like “No way…”

Then we got Lando Norris to be our driver. You know, just to be safe.

Silverstone: the home of British motorsport

Where better to put our 1:1 build to the ultimate test than at this world-famous race track?

Building the Legend

If anyone can build it...

Our model production building team in Kladno, Czechia can! They’re responsible for some of the most remarkable LEGO big builds ever created.

“The P1 is an automotive icon”
